Holaaa everyone!

It’s been two weeks and then some since I left England and travelled to the Middle East. Hope everyone’s had a good Easter holiday and is as ready to delve back into reality and routine as I am. The primary part of my time away was spent in Iraq on a spiritual journey and it was surprisingly incredible! I couldn’t honestly start to express in words how amazing it was to experience the customs and culture of such a wondrous country and it’s kind people. One of my aims in life will always be to adopt a few children so as to give them the love and care that they duly deserve as well as to satisfy my own need to give to those that aren’t as fortunate as we all have been. After spending time with the street children in Iraq, I can honestly without a doubt say that I will in the future, God willing, adopt an iraqi child – they were some of the most adorable children I had ever had seen and had the pleasure to experience!

Now the second half of my holiday was spent in Dubai and that’s where I was able to work on something for my blog (I honestly missed posting on ModainLondres!)

This was the outfit for my first day in Dubai where the heat was fortunately not too stifling and the days were relaxing and carefree. I promise the next few outfits were a lot more colourful and I did stray from the monochrome colour pallet you’ve been seeing in my last few posts. >_<

Just look at the view I had from my hotel room!

(Granted the view from my parent’s room was 100% better lmao)

Hope everyone had a great time whether it was spent away or in the comfort of your own home (which I had missed!)

Happy Easter!

Recently got sent a few items from BANK Fashion’s new Fenchurch womenswear line and I have to say, I am in love! It is street wear at it’s finest and most flattering. The baseball top, I was initially going to pair with a slip dress and pinstripe tights to show how it could be worn as a nightwear look and compare it against a day look but my tights ripped and it ruined the outfit for me. There are a lot of different ways the top could be worn and I adore its versatility in this area. I assembled it with my Topshop Joni high waisted jeans (love, love, love them) and a turtleneck as well as a few Gold accessories and my high heels to give it an air of sophistication – (Just cause it’s street wear, doesn’t mean you have to play it down and be casual!)

The controversial Marijuana leaf print top is one of the coolest items in my wardrobe right now and I’ve already got a friend asking to borrow it (she can get her own to be honest xoxo). I created a laid back look around the top and paired it with a quirky cat ear beanie as well as my favourite boots (also from BANK!). At some point during shooting these pictures I picked up a block of wood lying around and pretended to be a hoodlum for a bit – I don’t really know why… but love my imagination guys!

The FENCHURCH brand recently released its womenswear line and I have been crazy about it since the S/S 14 Bank Press Day when I saw a few of the pieces for the first time. The cuts, patterns and fabric are perfect in my opinion and I can find no fault with any of the three (the material of the items I got sent is so incredibly soft!). I feel like I really need more pieces from the line and whats even more exciting is that they keep putting new stuff up on the site, so I likely will get more soon!

BANK #SS14 Collections & Trends

Yesterday I attended my first press day and was lucky enough to preview BANK’s new collection for their in-house brands; Ribbon and Blonde + Blonde as well as their two new and exclusive for SS14 brands; Pink Soda and Fenchurch (pour femme this time!)

Pink Soda for SS14 is the epitome of femininity! The collection’s colour palette features mainly pastels with bold embellishments, articulate beadwork and lots and lots of sequins. The dresses are drop dead gorgeous and so sweet and girly looking, it’s almost like they’ve been dipped in sugar. Take a look for yourself!

I do love the inclusion of the bright oranges and splashed white in all it’s lacey and intricately embellished beauty. One of BANK’s key trends ‘Spice Trail’ resides within the Pink Soda brand and the design team have taken inspiration from the far and middle east, embodying the influences in the forms of statement jackets and jewelled accessories (which I forgot to take pictures of, sorry guys!)

The second newly established collection is Fenchurch’s exclusive collection for women and that collection, take my word for it, is amazing. I am in love with most of the pieces from the capsule collection! The muse for Fenchurch’s womenswear line is the notion of ‘girls wearing guys clothing’ and also the apparent influx of such from celebrity pop culture i.e. Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna. It’s a wonderful collection and I honestly couldn’t stop myself from reaching out to it from amongst the rest of the beautiful clothing/trends, maybe it’s cause I’m secretly hood? Or just very, very into fierce street style looks which this collection embodies well. The American baseball shirts/vests/Varsity style shirts/appliqued bomber jackets are all given an androgynous edge when worn by females and I like that Fenchurch’s collection for women upholds the same base template as the original menswear collection did (which attracted women to buy Fenchurch’s mens clothing in the first place! At least before this collection was created.) Teamed with chunky jewellery, edgy accessories such as see through fanny pack bags and controversial marijuana leaf prints, this collection is fun and fierce (forever linking this word to Beyonce!) and assertive in its right to be seen and heard. And I for one cannot wait to get my hands on it!

(How very Versace! This shirt needs to be mine ASAP!)

Two other exciting trends present in BANK’s in-house brand Ribbon are Geo Mod and Botanical Garden. Bold gorgeous floral prints and patterns for S/S14 but with 60’s inspired silhouettes and digital and depth adding grid-like prints on skater and shift dresses, need I say more? I’m starting to wonder whether it’s not too early to start shopping for Spring/Summer…

Also, how bad are these shoes begging to be bought by you?

_SAM8581

(The futuristic looking and neon green clutch have stolen my heart!)

(The two toned neon block heels<3)

The block heeled monochrome boot was probably my favourite from shoe wear, and that was definitely a hard decision to make from so many uber cool shoes (flatforms, sandals, heels you name it) to choose from.

I’m already excited for S/S14 and it’s not even here yet! It’s definitely tempting to max out your credit card or spend your newly acquired pay check on the new trends and collections that BANK has to offer, so maybe it’s a good thing that they don’t get released for a few more months? Maybe, talvez, peut-être…
