I loved the colour play in this outfit so much! Literally skulked around Oxford Street/Bond Street/God knows where for over an hour and a half before I came across this stylish woman. The first thing I noticed about her were her shoes, it’s odd but you can really tell a lot about a person through their choice of footwear – after seeing those contrast coloured heeled shoes however, I just knew that I had to take her photo!

Rain or shine, Tartan will always be in it’s prime. (I’m a poet at heart guys). Needless to say I adored the calf length tartan coat – been looking for one similar to it for months now myself! And the straight leg red trousers + her boyfriend’s striped shirt certainly complemented the overall outfit. How amazing is her hair by the way? I’ve always, always had a thing for afro’s! Could have had one if my mother didn’t relax my hair so much as a child (I was constantly breaking hair brushes in it). This woman also told me that she’s a blogger herself, not surprising at all because of her great style!

I was in a real rush and wasn’t able to talk to her much if at all – which I do feel guilty about – I just hope I didn’t come off rude! But hopefully she’ll be able to find my blog and we can reconnect 🙂

Have a great weekend everyone!

I adore the alternate faux fur colour scheme this girl was wearing, the light blue and the pastel peach stole went well together and served as my route of escape from one of the promoters outside Shepherd’s Bush station. The reason as to why people adore the (in my own words) dreaded Winter season has always evaded me but I think I may be starting to realise the basis for their ardour. These cold, cold months give rise to fashion that we otherwise keep under wraps, rise to the layers and fabrics that stay silent during the warmer months. Recently I’ve been quite taken aback by the fur trend  (faux of course). My primary coat for this season is faux fur itself and I wouldn’t want it any other way, it’s the Brown version of this coat by M&S and I am honestly in love. It keeps me super toasty and looking on point haha.

What’s your winter coat like? I’d love to know xo

So a few days ago I received a much awaited parcel from BANK in the mail and and due to my impulsive nature and lack of patience I all but ripped it open to reveal the faux leather jacket and the amazing heeled boots I’m wearing in the pictures above.

The faux leather biker jacket is from one of BANK’s in-house brands; Ribbon and I honestly do wish I had gotten it a lot sooner! It’s length is longer than the norm for most leather jackets so it ends just above mid-thigh for me, a factor that had increased my adoration for it. The outer material of the jacket is smooth to touch and quite soft whereas the inner material is more so sleek and even softer! The jacket doesn’t showcase a skin tight silhouette when zipped up but that’s because it allows one to wear layers with it if they so wished to without making the person look like they’re bursting at the seams. It’s been quite a chilly week and this jacket has definitely helped to protect me from the cold front so overall I think it would be a great investment to ones autumn/winter wardrobe! Also have I mentioned it looks great? (My mother wants one too now!)

Now for the boots, eurgh I love, love, love these shoes so much already. I’ve never been one to wear boots and if I were to purchase some they’d always be wedge boots or a sort with a really high heel. This was not the case for these ones. Originally I had wanted a really high pair of wedged sneaker like shoes from BANK but they weren’t in stock and I settled for the ones I now have. I am honestly so glad the others weren’t in stock! These boots are not only incredibly comfortable but they also look amazing with everything I own! Seriously speaking I could pair these with a maxi dress and add some dark coloured accessories/makeup and it would work (I have tried this, you have my word.)

I got the Clare Lace Up Boots – complements of  another of  BANK’s in-house brands; Blonde&Blonde, in a size up (so a size 6) because I aimed to wear really furry socks with them (and also because I saw that size 5 was out of stock on the website – I’m sneaky I know!) They legit fit like a charm, ever so slightly bigger than usual because of the increased sizing but when I wear them with socks I can hardly even tell. The block heel on the boots has won over my heart from all other past heels and  I’ve worn these boots every day since I’ve gotten them! THAT should be saying a lot about their quality, comfort and endurance!

They keep your feet warm all whilst looking stylishly ultra retro grunge… Why haven’t you got your own pair yet?

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

The buttoned up white collared shirt, the trench coat like wrap around jacket with faux leather panelling, the skinnies, the subtle hint of eyeliner and that great hat. (You will not believe where the clothing is from!)

I was hanging out in Camden Town when this icy beauty caught my friend Ibby’s eye, he told me to turn around and that’s when I saw him walking off in front of us. Of course I ran after him to ask if I could take this picture. What really surprised me though is that the clothing; the hat, the shirt and that beautiful jacket are all from PRIMARK!

I was shocked but it’s true that Primark have been doing considerably well in terms of the quality and style of their apparel this year. For example, I’ve had my faux leather backpack with the Gold embellishments  for over three months now and although I use it practically everyday, it still hasn’t shown any sign of wear and tear. Usually with Primark the problem is that the clothes/accessories don’t last all that long before they begin to fade/shrink/wither away. Well this doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore!

I may just need to pay a visit to the store myself 🙂

I’ve always had a thing for bow ties. At first my attention pivoted towards the men that wore them, in year 12 I had the biggest crush on this guy for no reason other than the fact that he wore one and he wore it well. Now, however my interest in them has spiked even more so because I realised two things; 1) They are not a male only accessory and 2) Because I feel confident enough to wear them.

The oversized white shirt is a basic need and I urge all women to get one (this one in particular if you can before it runs out of stock!) I had a very different concept in mind when I bought the leather leggings; they were mainly to be paired with baggy sweatshirts and heeled boots but I couldn’t help and try to pair it with the white shirt because as simple as the two items are on their own, together they look, well… really nice. The heels I’m wearing are from New Look and God almighty must have created them because they are literally the most comfortable pair I have ever owned! I’ve worn these for ten hour shifts at a time and still no blisters and no complaints at all!

The overall look is quite simple and yet it’s classy enough to be worn out, a bit of a gender bender with the outfit being very male oriented -albeit not the leggings so much and the latter do help to bring a more feminine touch to the ensemble.

The bow tie is as you may have guessed by now, my favourite part of the outfit and was the statement accessory that tied the entire ensemble together.

Have a great weekend everyone!

These are some of my favourite things. Don’t you love them?

The Marc Jacobs watch has been on my wishlist for a few weeks now and I hardly ever wear or want to purchase a watch! The rings are a given, it’s the one jewellery piece I can actually wear for long periods of time without getting too fidgety. However the faux leather jogging pants although a definite coveted item ensues a bout of hilarity for me everytime I bring them up. I think that they may forever remind me of the Kanye West interview with Zane Lowe which Jimmy Kimmel made a pardoy of using children.

I swear that comment was not random! In the original interview, Kanye rants about how he presented the idea of leather jogging pants to Fendi years ago and got rejected; “Me and Virgil [Abloh] are in Rome, giving designs to Fendi, over and over, and getting our designs knocked down … [We] brought the leather jogging pants six years ago to Fendi, and they said ‘no.’ How many motherf***ers you done seen with a leather jogging pants?”

I do love that man, not so much for his music but for the priceless and scandalous statements he makes almost daily.

The tartan crop top and fur gilet had a love affair in my mind and when paired them with the Jeffrey Campbell Scully platforms, VOGUE beanie and smiley face backpack created a formidable edgy synery for me that I couldn’t help but want to see materialised. Rimmel’s line of Kate Moss lipsticks has also had me transfixed as a fan for almost a year now and I own two of the darker red shades (Numbers 01 and 10) with intentions to get more in the future. Overall I could say that I’ve owned four but I lost the other two earlier in the year (I have terrible track with beauty items) but I did replace them which is saying much for their overall appeal. I love this line especially because of how creamy and long lasting the lipsticks are, usually the main problem for me with wearing anything other than a light lipgloss is that the products dry out my lips but BUT THAT NOT A PROBLEM WITH THIS LINE!

Honestly try them out and see for yourself 🙂

Have a good weekend everyone! Bjs**

I had a very different vision in mind when I asked my friend Roman-Erol to model for a Street Style shoot and although the outcome did differ from what was in my head, I was pleased with the results. Roman’s style is very laid back and has a sort of demure air about it although that may be a by-product of his own persona. The asymmetrical tartan shirt was definitely a favourite although I didn’t know it was his own creation until much later (I’m upset he won’t teach me how to sew.)

We chose to shoot in Brick Lane because, well, it’s Brick Lane. I don’t think there’s ever been a time wherein I’ve wandered through that area and not come across someone who I immediately either feel the need to photograph or fawn over their style. It is definitely one of my favourite places in the whole of London. The same can definitely not be said for the weather that day! It was clear for about two minutes between each outfit change and pouring the next fifteen but apart from the less than desirable climate everything else went off with few hitches. An interesting first experience and I’m definitely going to be doing more of these kind of projects in the future.

Sapatos de Seaside

Lisbon-Portugal

Seaside’s shoes have been a part of my wardrobes entourage for years now and why ever not? The brand thrives on high quality and innovative products that not only look great on your feet but make love to them too. I jest you not!

Seaside’s shoes are some of the MOST comfortable shoes I have ever had the pleasure to own! They are truly amazing, breaking in high heels (Sapatos de Salto) has never been so enjoyable.

Being a Portuguese brand, Seaside has done considerably well on the international scale and have been in business for over 25 years now. In my mind I envision the head design team to be a cozy bunch of avo’s (grandmothers) who note down every idea, detail, stitch and style to pass down to later generations so as to keep on the tradition. Oh, did I forget to mention that these avo’s are incredibly stylish and are always decked out in the edgiest apparel/accessories?

I remember my first Seaside shoe; It was the summer of 2007 in Lisbon and I was twelve and on the verge of a prepubescent breakdown not knowing if the guy I pledged to love even knew of my existence and what not. My mae (mother) decided to take me shopping to get my mood out of the perpetual funk it was in at that stage and after a few huffs I let her lead me out of the house and onto the street. I vividly recall hefty cow figurines being scattered around the streets of Lisbon that year, leftovers of the Cow Parade from the year before. There was even one in front of the Seaside store in Praça de Londres, Lisbon.

The first Seaside shoes I ever bought were these huge pink imitation trainer flatform’s (Flatform’s in 2007, I was ahead of my time I know, I know.) They were my first sort of heeled shoes and for that reason I adored them. I even went home and showed them off to my crush the next day! (He may have laughed okay)

They may have been slightly odd to adorn my twelve year old feet with but I loved them and they went on to be a member of my shoe clique for years. I still had them up to two years ago until I moved to London and left them behind in Kenya (Seaside’s shoes are amazingly durable!)

I was waiting outside the Topshop in Oxford Circus for a friend and noticed this girl and her great style. Sometimes the outfits that people wear look to have been thrown together by mistake as though that person had just woken up and picked what to wear with their eyes still glued shut as they reminisced about their dreams. This ensemble was definitely not from that criteria.

Seeing the lapelled coat and silk printed shirt paired with the skin tight white trousers and tan brogue shoes literally brought a smile to my face. I especially liked that her Mint green headphones (Amazon) corresponded with her outfit. Only the truly fashion savvy are able to tweak their accessories to flow with their garb.

She was also really sweet and even complimented me on the necklace I had been wearing. The surprise that registers on people’s faces when I ask to photograph them for this blog really does make my day because I know that it, in a way, makes theirs 🙂

Hope everyone has a lovely week! Bjs **

I shot this couples photo at the Fashionstyleologer fashion book launch and just came across it now. Absolutely loved this woman’s style so decided to make it my next post as it is still technically street style fashion.

I’m not a big fan of wearing leather bralet’s during the day but I liked how it was considerably tamed down by the beige trousers and plaid dress shirt. A very casual and cool look 🙂
